Auto-Embed support
Auto-Embed adds embed links to every movie and episode of your site from your provider's URL pattern, using the IMDb and TMDb IDs of each title. This page explains how to set up the sources, which markers you can use, and how to leave titles out.
Overview
Many video providers use the same address pattern for every title, built from its IMDb or TMDb ID, such as https://player.example.com/movie/{tmdb_id}. With Auto-Embed, you set that pattern once and every movie and episode of your site gets its embed link.
Auto-Embed links are virtual: they are not saved as links. Dbmovies builds them from each title's IDs every time the list of links is requested. That means:
- they take no space in your database, even with tens of thousands of episodes;
- a change in the settings applies to every title at once;
- turning Auto-Embed off removes them from every title.
They are shown after the title's own links, with the name you give them.
Use providers you trust and are allowed to use. Auto-Embed only builds the address: the video, its ads and its availability depend on the provider.
Setting up the sources
Go to Dbmovies › Settings › Links › Auto-Embed and turn on Enable resources. Then add your sources in two lists:
- Movie Sources: added to every movie.
- Episode Sources: added to every episode of your TV shows.
Click Add source for each provider. Each source has:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Source name | The server name shown in the list of links. If you leave it empty, the domain of the URL is used |
| Source URL | The address pattern of the provider, with markers. It must start with http:// or https:// |
| Language | The language of the audio, shown with the link |
| Quality | The quality shown with the link |
| Premium | Only members with an active subscription can play it |
The order of the list is the order in which the sources appear.

Markers
The markers of the URL are replaced with the data of each title.
| Marker | Movie Sources | Episode Sources |
|---|---|---|
{imdb_id} | IMDb ID of the movie | IMDb ID of the TV show |
{tmdb_id} | TMDb ID of the movie | TMDb ID of the TV show |
{season_number} | Season number of the episode | |
{episode_number} | Episode number |
For example:
https://player.example.com/movie/{tmdb_id}
https://player.example.com/tv/{tmdb_id}/{season_number}/{episode_number}- A title without a value gets no link from that source. If a source uses
{imdb_id}and a movie has no IMDb ID, that movie does not get it. The other sources still apply. - Season and episode are optional. An episode source without them opens the same page for every episode of the TV show, which helps with providers that only have a page per TV show.

Leaving titles out
To leave a movie or a TV show out of Auto-Embed, turn on the Auto-Embed switch in the Advanced box of its editor. Episodes have no switch of their own: they follow the switch of their TV show. See Movies and TV Shows.
How they differ from your links
Auto-Embed links work like embed links for your visitors, but they are not regular links:
- they are not listed in the Links box of the editor or in Dbmovies › Links;
- they have no health score and are not checked by Analyze link health;
- they are not counted in the Sources column of the lists.
To change one, edit its source in the settings: the change reaches every title. To add a link for a single title, add it as a regular link. See Link sources.
