Dbmovies
The all-in-one plugin for movie and TV websites: one-click imports, automatic episodes, link management and paid memberships.
Dbmovies turns WordPress into a complete movie and TV website: catalog, accounts, links and memberships in one plugin.
Import any movie or TV show from TMDb in one click and get a page ready to publish: poster, backdrops, synopsis, genres, trailer, cast and crew, and TMDb and IMDb ratings. Import a TV show and its aired episodes are created on their own in the background, one season at a time.
Manage every video link from one screen. Add links by hand, load thousands from a spreadsheet, or generate them for every title from your provider's URL pattern with Auto-Embed. Dbmovies checks which links still work, so your visitors do not land on dead ones.
Give your audience real accounts with My List, ratings, comments and title requests. Earn from your traffic with premium memberships billed automatically through PayPal, premium-only links and built-in ad slots.
Built for production sites with thousands of titles: background tasks with time limits, a metadata updater that keeps ratings fresh on its own, and a clean, fast admin. Pair it with the Wovie theme for a front end that is ready to launch.
Dbmovies does not include, host or stream any video. You add your own video sources and you are responsible for having the rights to publish them.
Import & catalog
- One-click import from TMDb: poster, backdrops, synopsis, genres, countries, release date, trailer, cast and crew, plus TMDb and IMDb ratings.
- Search or discover titles by year, genre and popularity, and import a whole page of results at once with Bulk import.
- Quick import: paste a TMDb or IMDb link or ID from the Movies or TV Shows list.
- Automatic episodes: every TV show you import queues its aired episodes, which are created in the background, one season at a time. Choose the season order, import only the latest seasons or set a limit of episodes per show.
- Meta Updater: refreshes ratings, cast and metadata of your titles on a schedule, in short runs that do not slow down your site.
- Cast & crew for every title, with the real directors and the main cast of all seasons, and collections to group titles into curated sets.
- Built-in TMDb proxy for servers that cannot reach TMDb directly.
Links
- One screen for every link: host, language, quality, type (embed, download or MP4), status, health, premium access and plays, with search and filters.
- Import links from Excel or CSV: up to 5,000 rows per file, matched by TMDb or IMDb ID. You see a full preview before anything is saved, and links that already exist are skipped.
- Auto-Embed: generate embed links for every movie and episode from your provider's URL pattern. One change in the settings updates every title, and any title can be excluded with one switch.
- Link health: checks MEGA, 1fichier, MediaFire, MegaUp and YouTube links one by one or in bulk, and tells you which ones still work.
- Domain exchanger: when a host changes its domain, update every link in one step.
- Visitors can report broken links, and premium-only links are reserved for members.
Accounts & community
- Sign-up and sign-in, including Google sign-in and reCAPTCHA.
- My List, ratings, and title requests that you approve and import from the admin.
- Comments with custom emojis.
- Account area: profile, phone, email change with a one-time code, active sessions and membership.
- Sign-in limits that read the visitor's real IP address, also behind Cloudflare.
Monetization
- Premium memberships with automatic recurring billing through PayPal, or manual activation for any other payment method.
- Members who cancel keep their access until the end of the paid period.
- Plans with their own price and duration, and tax settings.
- Payments and Subscriptions screens with every charge, refund and renewal, plus email notices for each step.
- Ad management with your own slots and campaigns.

No. Dbmovies imports the information of each title (synopsis, images, cast, ratings) from TMDb and IMDb data. It does not include, host or stream any video. You add your own video sources and you are responsible for having the rights to publish them.
Dbmovies manages the catalog, links, accounts and payments, and the theme shows them to your visitors. Wovie is built for Dbmovies and uses all its features, so it is the recommended way to launch. Other themes can show the catalog as regular WordPress content, but the player, accounts and memberships need a compatible theme.
Yes. It is free: create an account at themoviedb.org and request an API key. If your server cannot reach TMDb, turn on the built-in proxy in the settings (it needs an active license).
Some features use the Doothemes server: IMDb ratings for each movie or TV show you import or update, the optional TMDb proxy, and license checks. Your license includes that number of requests per day, and the count resets every day. Requests to TMDb with your own API key do not count, and episodes do not use IMDb requests. The importer shows how many you have used today.
Your site and everything you imported keep working. Importing new titles, the background tasks (Automatic episodes and the Meta Updater), IMDb data, plugin updates and changes to the plugin settings need an active license, so they stop until you renew. Renewals have a discount.
Yes. Deactivate the license in Dbmovies › Updates on the old site and activate it on the new one. Each license works on the number of sites of its plan at the same time.
Automatic recurring billing works with PayPal. You can also activate memberships by hand for payments you receive any other way, such as a bank transfer, and Dbmovies tracks them in the same Payments screen.
English and Spanish are included. Dbmovies is translation-ready, so you can translate it to any language with tools such as Loco Translate or Poedit.
WordPress 7.0 or higher, PHP 8.1 or higher and MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+. For the background tasks, we recommend a server cron job that calls wp-cron.php every minute. Large catalogs work best with an object cache such as Redis and a CDN for images.
