# User requests

> User requests let your visitors ask for the movies and TV shows they miss on your site. This page explains what members see, the request rules, and how to review and import requests from the admin.

## Overview

User requests let your members ask for titles that are not on your site yet. They search TMDb from their account and send a request; you review the requests in **Dbmovies › Requests** and import them with one click. Members see the status of each request in their account.

It is a simple way to learn what your audience wants to watch and to grow your catalog with it.

## What your members see

The requests area is part of the account of each member. In [Wovie](https://doothemes.com/items/wovie), it is **Account › Requests**.

1. The member searches TMDb for a movie or a TV show.
2. They pick a title from the results and send the request.
3. Their list of requests shows the status of each one, which changes as you work on it.

The rules:

- **Members only.** Visitors need an account to request titles.
- **Only titles you do not have.** A title already published on your site cannot be requested.
- **No repeated requests.** A member cannot request the same title twice while their request is pending, in progress or published.
- **Up to 10 pending requests** per member at a time. When you publish or decline some, they can request more.
- **Cancelling.** A member can cancel a request while it is still **Pending**.

## The Requests screen

**Dbmovies › Requests** lists every request, with the member, the title, its type (movie or TV show) and its status. The number next to **Requests** in the admin menu counts the pending ones.

Search by user, title or hash, and filter by status and type.

## Statuses

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Pending** | New, waiting for your review |
| **In progress** | You are working on it |
| **Published** | The title is on your site |
| **Declined** | You will not add it |

Change the status of a request from the selector on its row. The member sees the new status in their account.

## Importing a request

Click **Import** on a request. Dbmovies imports the title from TMDb with the same importer as the **Dbmovies** menu and marks the request as **Published**. If the title was already on your site, the request is marked as **Published** too.

Importing needs the same as the importer: an active license and your TMDb API key. See [Importers](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/importers).

## Deleting a request

**Delete** removes a request for good, and it disappears from the account of the member. To keep a record, set it to **Declined** instead.
